August 30, 2008Ecsape The Fate w/ The Mission in Motion & A Silent Fiction - 25.7.08
Before I die, I will have seen it all...
After hours driving, Kate and I finally were dropped off at the UNSW Roundhouse ready to see one of our favourite bands: Escape The Fate. To say the least; we were fucking psyched. It was 8 degrees Celsius according to the cars thermometer, and we were decked out in band shirts and jeans. No jackets because we had no where to put them and didn't want a locker. Basically we were fucked.7 more hours like this, it was freezing. I was so anxious and nervous to a crazy extent so I probably came off as a weirdo, which is worrying me a lot to this day :/ There were a few people there; they were lovely. A lot of them I knew from other shows and from MySpace, but I met some rad new people too.
A Silent Fiction were the first support band. I actually really liked them. They were a really fun band to watch; they had turntables and the singer was pretty rad, guitars were awesome. The first song they played there was already a circle pit so I believe they did a stellar job at supporting.
![]() Craig let everyone know early on that he had broken his foot, and wouldn't be able to jump around much, but assured as Max would make up for it by jumping off the balcony (more this song later). In the beginning, Max was having some technical problems as one of his leads get get coming undone. Craig pulled him up on this, they ended up telling each other how much they loved each other. Then Max walked over and they ended up kissing on the lips. The girls [and some guys] obviously thought nothing of this. There was surely no fangirling, squeeling, and screaming. Of course not >.> I chose to leave barrier around halfway through ETF's seat because I wanted to be somewhere rougher, so I went into center front part of the crowd. It was awesome. I also found Kate around there too with Tom. Something so profound, something you won't expect
Halfway through a song, Max left the stage, ran up stairs onto the balcony and motioned us all to come close, ready to catch him. Now that barrier is a few metres high, and wow. It's a big drop. He climbed onto the ledge, and fucking jumped off the balcony, right into the crowd. I live too fast, to die is to live in her head
They left, but everyone knew they would come back on to do an Encore. And they did, without a doubt the most popular song of the night; Situations. Max introduced it by saying 'this song is about sex'. It was insane. I couldn't even hear Craig singing the crowd was so loud. Haha don't ask me why, but the live performance reminded me of the video so much. Obviously it wasn't in a highschool….and there were no girls in bikinis…but they were there in spirit. But seriously, facial expression and guitar move wise. It was fucking incredible. We went outside as we were going to meet them, but ended up being very content with night, so we were like 'fuck it' and figured we'd go home. plus our ride needed to go soon anyway. Initially I was extremely apprehensive about seeing ETF; I was devasted when Ronnie left, and it was another blow when Omar left. Craig was fucking incredible, his performance both vocally and as a showman was exceptional. That goes for the rest of the band too; they put on a fantastic show. Flawless. Escape we Fate are without a doubt, one of the best live bands I've ever had the honour of being able to watch, and participate in. That was another excellent aspect of the concert; you were in it- you played a part in the show. It was an experience I will never forget. I can't wait till they come back.

Rofl, who actually ends up KEEPING their resolution? No, I didn't. This year I'm trying to see family I don't see as often as I should and sleep in the night time.
*. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? 'Concept'...fuck I don't know. It was basically a whole load of band shirts and black pants or jeans 0_o With red or black makeup & cons. Not very interesting haha. I tried to get people to catch onto the 'pants' revolution too :D
Probably more of 'who'. Gerard, Frank, Bob, Ray and Mikey. Chat Crew definitely & Friends. Other people…
Getting the 'life goal list' shorter. Meeting amazing people. Keeping conscious when it mattered xD
Okay... That if you wait, and keep the faith, things will happen. That karma takes a long time to begin to work.
To say thank you. And I got it kinda.
Whom? haha i love that word. People I know? No one. And bands and stuff that decided NOT to grave us with their prescence *cough*yesi'mtalkingaboutyoutakingbacksunday*cough*
Oh you have no idea. 1000% happier.
TAI…, Cobra Starship, Escape The Fate, Say Anything, Gallows, Aiden. I didnt rediscover anything...
School was weird this year. I took Art, Psychology, and Drama for my electives. I wasn't too happy with how the school year started but I never am so that wasn't unexpected. Ended up doing the best in Drama which is completely fucked because I cannot do Drama to save myself.
Concerts, merch, cds, magazines, hair.
YeshYesh. A few people. I have two new cousins ^.^ They are crazy adorable.
Kinda. Not as in they 'kinda' died, as in we were 'kinda' close.
*. Did you suffer illness or injury? I swear I have mono or something. I was sick SO much this year. Injury wise I got hurt a lot too. And other stuff too...
Did anything good even come out this year? I'm still in love with Evil Dead.
*. What was the best thing you bought? Weirdly enough, probably a shitload of sharpies.
Um. Matt Cortez. Because…I don't need a reason it's Matt.
Eh people. People at my second My Chem show. Not really sad...more angry. People at other shows. Fan girls to a crazy-ass extent. And bitchy elitist groups to a big extent also.
Famous Last Words – MCR. The Laughing Gnome – David Bowie xD Leathermouth – Murder…
LOL. Gone out. I'm the most anti-social person ever.
*. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Not 'hate'...extremely intensely dislike. No actually, I do hate some new people..
I'm reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill at the moment. Emma gave it to me. Its fucking creepy. It's about this aging rock star who buys a ghost of the internet and all this weird shit happens. So far, I love it a lot. p.s Nice Nirvana reference. And if I remember correctly that Nirvana song was written about Courtney Love's Vagina : l
I did absolutely shit all. The past few weeks had been part of my birthday presents so it was cool. But yes. Not many people remembered...those who did made it awesome. No party. Went to Keelz's party the next night or the night after though. I turned 15. I know I suck.
Britney Spears - for surviving. Bert McCracken & Zac Effron. - Because... Bert seriously scares me. And Zac Effron also scares me.
The whole Not because I want either Anti/Pro the school, but because the people caused it to not be about the school and to bring in racial religious issues. It's bullshit.
*. Quote a song that sums up your year: I see you lying next to me, With words I thought I'd never speak. Awake
A long, rambly, nutshell... Thank you to everyone who was there for me this year. Thank you to the people who I've hung out with this year and met and laughed with. I love you all. xoep. x-posted to Myspace P.S Feel free to comment on your 2007 and stuff if you want :)

My Chemical Romance w/ Circa Survive & TGP Concert - 30.11.07
_
As soon as the doors opened Kate and I had already lost Emma and Bre. We sat down 4 rows from centre barrier which was pretty cool. And we waited. Anyway, everyone was sitting down, and all of the sudden everyone was standing up trying to get to barrier, meanwhile Kate is on the ground. People are literally stepping on her and pushing her down, whiles shes crying and screaming. I was there yelling at people to get her up now but no one would; they just kept going for barrier. It was scary and sad. It's like the unwritten rule of MCR a show (and all shows) is that if someone falls down you pick them up. Then to make it worse, these fuckfaces next to us started.
Assholes: She shouldn't be here, take her out, she should get out. (Kate didn't want to, I'd asked her a million times if she needed to go to first aid or something and these people obviously wanted our spot) Elle: No, it's cool. She's fine. She'll be okay Assholes: she doesn't look okay. She shouldn't be here *rolls eyes* how did this even happen? Elle: No, listen. She's fine; she's been to plenty of shows. She went to the fucking pits at TOC and owned it. She's fine.
Then they started talking about how blue haired girls get killed in the mosh at Slipknot. And then I got mad aha. Seriously, I told Kate they were assholes and fuckheads and they heard me and blah blah. It was enraging. Haha I actually got openly mad and I don't get mad that often. Poor Kate L The crowd was really disappointing where we were at.
And you can't touch my brother And you won't fuck my friends
Kate was pretty scared and was having a bit of a panic attack (I would've been too) so we moved back a bit. Then moved some; more because these older guys were being inappropriate and shit. No music, yet the mosh was already tough. Haha so I wrapped myself around Kate and made like…a human barrier and pushed away people hahaha.
I'll never let them hurt you, I promise.
The Getaway Plan were the first support band. Keelz burnt me some of their stuff and it was cool, so it was good to see them live. I really liked them. Matthew, the singer, was fantastic…moved a lot. He was pretty awesome. There songs were all good. Their set was pretty quick, but they seemed to be pretty well-received by the crowd, with good reason.
Then Circa Survive came on! Ahhh they are one of my favourite bands. If they weren't playing with MCR I would go to a C.S concert the night before I like them that much. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I swear they're like my fucking café. I love them a lot. They played wonderfully I thought. There was a white screen projecting images and lyrics which was really cool.Haha Anthony Green was so funny. The crowd sucked ass. They boo-ed Circa Survive. Wtf. In my opinion, you should NEVER boo support bands. They are there, trying to get you psyched up for the main act, trying to get you exposed to their music, trying to give you a good time. They are going out there for YOU, even if they're not your thing, show some respect and not boo. Applaud to show you appreciate them coming. He started rambling and was like "Yeah, last night I had a weird dream. I dreamt I hated my drummer! But it was just a dream…BUT I HATED HIM…..but it was just a dream".
Hahaha he's so weird. His dancing skills were funny too. He stuck his tongue out a lot too. They played 'Living Together' which is probably one of my favourite songs off the new album (I love Juturna very much).
Then he was like, "yo, I want you to make laser gun noises. You know like 'pew pew pew" and he put his hand into a gun and starting shooting these invisible lasers. Then he got us to do it hahaha. Then he got us to click our fingers (not many people could do it due to sweaty hands) and he was like 'oh it sounds like rain' and the whole centre made these noises. It was so fun.
The crowd favourite was definitely 'Act Appalled'. It was the last song they played and it seemed like people actually might have known it. Kate and were singing like crazy mofos and she did her backing up vocals like she always does xD
Anyway, I loved them. I'm really happy to say I've seen them now.
Their set list was: Living Together In The Morning And Amazing Golden Baby Mandala Oh Hello On Letting Go Greatest Lie Fear in Faith The Difference Between Medicine And Poison Is In The Dose Semi Constructive Criticism Stop The Car Act Appalled
...or something like that.
Then, Circa left. The roadies came out to setup. Yay! Cortez came out and did Franks' guitar. I did not fangirl >.> Oh I admire that man for picking up franks mic, tuning, being fill-in-Mikey and being generally fucking awesome. I have quite and intense liking for Matt. I was like 'Kate! Look its Cortez! *insert ramble about how much I love Cortez*'. And the girl next to me was like 'who IS that?' and I gave her like...this full wikipedia-esque view on him and what he does xD She seemed genuinely intrigued so it was good.
Killing before killing was cool. You're so cool, so cool, SO COOL.
***
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE. There was no curtain, they just came out. They had the wolf backdrop which was cool. I was madly searching for Frank, (which is hard to do because according to Marylin Manson he's a midget and all) and then I saw his scorpion tattoo and turned into a crying mess hahaha. Even though he was at Brisbane, I was still paranoid about him not being there.
I remember seeing the Fro, and was like laughing for some reason. I don't know why, even while I'm writing this now I'm smiling like an idiot. Toro makes me laugh. Everything about him is so cool and amusing and fantastic. And then I saw Mikey and was like *squeal* And Gerard came out looking lovely.
cred: [v]
It was seriously like a dream. And I remember looking at Kate and seeing her face, and she was so fucking happy. And it was so cool that I got to take her to her first My Chem concert. It was all nice.
Anyway, they opened the show with 'This Is How I Disappear' which was different yet totally kick ass of course. When he was finished he said 'Hi Sydney, you all look fucking gorgeous'. They played (in around this order) This Is How I Disappear Flash (Queen cover) Encore: In I'm Not Okay I started to get really, really dehydrated, and would kill for some water. And then Frankie grabs his water, takes a big gulp then throws the rest of the bottle out into the crowd. I turned to Kate and was like 'Hmm...tastes like cigarettes'. And I got it and hahaha it was so cool. Ah it was a fantastic song. Frank said 'fuck me' instead of 'trust me'. You know I went 2 years thinking it was actually 'be nice to me'…ah anyways.
He introduced Give 'Em Hell Kid as "This song…*ten second break* is about….*ten second break* COCAINE". Hahah everyone was like "fuck yes cocaine". hahaha.
And they played And he did the 'way down' hand movements and everyone copied him. Hahaha. Gee kept talking about how I was off Revenge and stuff and people were going crazy. When the opening parts to Welcome To The Black Parade started, everyone started doing the dance hand moves from the video and Gerard was like 'You know what to do' haha.
cred: katie.fairservive Then things got weird. The Prison intro ramble riff thingy came on and Gerard started talking. Exact words were: " Boogity Boogity Boogity Boogity! I want to hear all the ladies fuck themselves (Elle says to Kate: "oh dear god hear we go." Because we all know what stuff happens during prison intros) Because I'll have you know I fuck myself on a daily basis. It goes like this. You're gonna touch yourself make it sound convincible Ladies…you're gonna spend most of the rest of your lives doing this. This is what it sounds like. uh uh uh uh uh. let me here you go" *crowd erupts into noises*
Oh dude. I've never laughed so hard. It was the most hilarious, scariest, ridiculous thing ever. It was so sexual I expected Bert McCrackhead to pop on out. Hahah all these girls around me went absolutely insane. It was the funniest shit I've ever been involved in. Like…10 000 people making orgasm noises and touching themselves in unison. And there were fucking kids there younger than 8 year olds there! I was like "Dude, my moms here" .Ahahahahhaha. I remember looking at Kate and we both laughed our asses off. Anyway...so we were all making the "uh uh" noises until Gerard was obviously satisfied and began to sing. I love that song so much.
The Gerard was like "Who was at out Club shows with Green Day?" *crowd screams. Elle and & Kate look at each other feeling guilty*"And I believe you ALL…It must have been really fucking packed, let me tell you." The way he said it made me laugh.
cred: kate.fairservice Before a song started, Frank was having some guitar troubles, so they had to stop and wait for Cortez to fix shit up. And Gerard started rambling, and then puts the spotlight on Ray and Ray does this, literally around 4 minute guitar solo. And everyone was like: *jaws drop* *hands go up*. Because fucking hell he's so talented. And he just kept going and going. It was amazing. MCR is one of those bands I could watch forever play and every time I'd pick up something different.
Teenagers was definitely a crowd favourite; maybe the one best received that night in my opinion. It was like the video haha. Gerard started doing the fist in the air, and then the crowd did it. Frankie played great in that song. I remember watching him and ahh. So good.
Then at around I nearly had to get out, because I literally couldn't stand up by myself. I was so faint and dizzy and dehydrated.*looks at Frankie's water bottle. Empty * (S.E.C fucking sucks at giving out water I've noticed. The only time when I've ever been given water was at Taste of Chaos and that was only 'oh lets throw water into the crowd'). So I was like wayyy out of it. But this girl gave me some of hers so it was all good. Oh, and me and Kate totally did the 'Eddie' dance move…in sleep…which is the most inappropriate time Kate could have picked to start it up.
Cancer was really moving. Total lighter and mobile phone light moment. Because "cell phones are the new lighter". He didn't sing 'never marry'. But ahh. Such a beautiful song – the crowd just stood still and sung together [apart from these teenies who wouldn't stop screaming].
After Sleep was finished and the piano was left, the band left the stage and James slowly dragged out the piano and turned it into the tune of Desert Song. He built up the speed of it very slowly and I was like…shitting myself haha. Because you didn't know if it was going to be desert song or they were fucking with you.
But then I see Toro and Frankie come out with their other guitars and Frank sits down on stage and they start playing. They played Desert Song! It was so beautiful – one the most beautiful songs I've ever seen performed live. It's so fucking emotionally charged. Everyone was just crying and it was such a special moment for everyone present. And Famous Last Words came on. And gah. *dead* Everything about that performance was so powerful and intense and life-changing and amazing. He added a lot of extra 'fucks' in that song. Awake and Unafraid
And at the end of the song, there were these fireworks and fire sparklers things falling from the roof. The pyros at that show were incredible, serious props for pyro guys.
cred: ourcarscollide All throughout the show, they were flames – it was so cool. But geez, every time they sparked out it was like a heat wave! I don't know how the band played with it because it was so damn hot.
And Mikey! Holyfuckingshit. He was like…a skinny stick of crazy kinetic energy. He moved…a lot!
And Frank hahaha. He was beautiful. He fell backwards off monitors, which I found hilarious. And he did his usually 'oh-lets-run-around-and-fuck-shit-up' stage antics. Haha He knocked his head into his mic stand to tip it over (Cortez was constantly fixing it up). He spat a shitload as usual. LMFAO, Frank Iero has weird powers on me. Powers that make me spit and head bang like a crazy mofo. And he wore these pink, love-heart shaped sunnies xD And he cut his hair too! Which was epic…because he hasn't for god knows how long. He was so amazing though. I felt so lucky that he came after his difficult family shit. He's full of epic win.<3
And Ray…was just like. God. An amazing, fro-headed, shredding, legend, god.He just blows my mind. His fingers are like…woah. It's just crazy. He's oozes genius-ism. I was seriously in awe of him the whole night. He kept going over to Frankie and hugged him and was laughing and dude, he was so drunk. He had his beer out on the stage like in January. It was awesome. Anyway, in my humble opinion Toro is one of the most incredible musicians I've been priveledged enough to be able to not only witness live, but hear altogether.
No Bobbie L But Tucker (Drummer from Thursday, which is pretty awesome) filled-in he pwned it. I like him. He gets the thumbs up.
And they might fill your place A temporary stand in for your face
And Gerard was so incredible. His vocals were spot on as usual. He gave his all. And rghvjnfigfkestgv such a good stage man. Like..Freddy Mercury good. (Oh yeah. That's a Queen comparison. I totally went there) He looked happy too, like, he smiled a lot. Which makes it even more enjoyable. He danced through like everything. At the end of Mama he stopped and started to fake cry, then putting on this fake voice screamed 'Moooommmmm. I don't wanna go to school!' It made me laugh. Speaking of Mama, the explosions and pyros in that song were 'swimming'. Anyway, Gerard... He did his chicken dance, and licked his hand a lot and ahh. The memories. Apparently he jerked off his mic too, but I didn't see that. And he made hand actions and stuff, like vampire actions and 'make you slit your wrist' actions. Funny stuff.
Then when it was over we picked up tickets and went around the back. I was pretty certain they wouldn't come out; the backstage meeting place is tiny, and there were quite a lot of people waiting, plus the fans were fucking morons as I've mentioned before.
Anyway, Anthony Green came out and videotaped everyone. Aww. Bless him and his adorability. But we waited anyone, met some kids again from previous shows. My back was fucking killing me (its weird, no matter how much I get punched in the face, its never sore, either are my legs or feet; it's always my back) And I nearly passed out again I was that thirsty and exhausted.
Talked to some more security dudes and came up with theories of were the band was, rofl. Maybe more importantly; WHERE WORM WAS. ='[ He wasn't at
The remaining members of the band left discreetly as possible, and I figured, if they didn't want to come out it's because they have a reason. Which I totally understood and was satisfied. You pay for the show, not for meetings. The band has no obligation to come out, so stop complaining.
Do you have the keys to the hotel? 'Cause I'm gonna string the motherfucker on fire.
Went back to see Bremma at the hotel and chatted for a bit. It was another day I will never forget, always cherish, and hold close to my heart.
cred: katie.fairservice And laugh at, because he wore these.^
When you go Just know that I will remember you If living was the hardest part Well then one day, be together And in the end we'll fall apart Just like the leaves change in colours And then I will be with you I will be there one last time now When you go Just know that I will remember you I've lost my fear of falling I will be with you xoep. x-posted to Myspace

My Chemical Romance: Pre-gig, Soundcheck, Lineup 29 & 30.11.0729.11.07 - 30.11.07 On Thursday Kate, my Mum, and I drove to Sydney, got driven to a train station, caught the train to Central, and walked the rest of the way to meet Emma and Bre and go see my favourite band, My Chemical Romance, for the second time this year. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, which is literally staright across from the Sydney Entertainment Centre which was very convienient. On Thursday we went shopping, I kinda fucked up on the locations - Utopia was a lot further away then I remembered, haha. Dude, that shop is so awesome though. It had Evil Dead shirts which tempted me , but I was saving for merch. We stayed in there for a while, oh and Emma bough me this kick ass My Chemical Romance wrist band, which is made of win .It was an awesome day though. Made lots of 'way jokes' so Kate & Mum bought this thing and freaked me out by calling pretending to be reception. Hahah she went from English accent to Asian accent and I totally didnt pick up on it. Then we got dinner and then went over to the S.E.C to check out how was there and stuff. We headed up to our rooms, ordered room service. We had a plan to go to sleep early, but yeah...it kinda didnt happened. Emma, Bre, Kate and Myself crammed into the one hotel room and spent the night giggling and talking. Bre and Emma decided to RP out-loud, which was possibly one of the most hilarous things I've ever heard. I think Kate was a little scarred for life, but ya know. Oh! And Miss Emma, got her Syn Gates on, conveniently at 2am, and decided to rock out the hotel room with like…air guitar moves and singing and dancing and crowd surfing onto people on beds. I think she did Syn proud to be honest. ______ My alarm decided to stuff up, so we were a bit late. We were down at the venue at 7:30am, around, 12 hours before the show began. We were doing shifts Emma was getting ready; Kate and I literally went straight from bed and ran down there. Yeah, Elle early morning with no makeup and hair is a bad look haha.
Casey from TOC found us and we moved up the line to sit with friends of hers – they seemed real sweet. Had good fun hanging out with people and whatnot. There was probably less than 50 kids there at Gate A. I heard that one kid had been there for over 48 hours 0_o.
Anyway we met a lot of new people. People from the interwebz and other shows we recognized. People were tied to poles with 'HOMOPHOBIA IS GAY' signs covered in toilet paper, which made me laugh.
Emma came down and I got ready for the show. Blue Taking Back Sunday shirt, black pants red makeup, and that much hairspray I swear I'm the main fucking contributor to global warming.
Your dreams and your hopeless hair
I was so psyched yet so tired at the same time, which is hard to be. I was in of my state-the-obvious moods of "What the hell I'm seeing MCR with everyone".
The first few hours went pretty quick considering. Emma and I tried to come up with band names and a song, which basically meant I would make annoying, pressuring tick tock noises while Em did it haha. It was good though – she'll be famous one day *nods*.
Trips to McDonalds, trying to sleep, taking photos, group talks and video ipods occupied the next few hours.
At 3pm sound check began. Kate and I rushed over to the middle car park adjacent to the stage door. I know it may seem silly to get so excited over sound check, but I have a thing for sound checks. Something about them is so cool and awesome to me. I love how they'll sometimes play each instrument separately, I don't know, it's almost like you appreciate the amount of work and perfection goes into it.
Sound check full songs (all the way through, not stopping) consisted of: Welcome To The Black Parade Give 'Em Hell Kid This is How I Disappear Dead! ( I think)
The check WTTBP a hell of a lot. So we heard the songs all the way through quite a few times which made me extremely happy and nervous and excited. Hahaha people clapped after the songs. It was awesome. I may have shed a singular tear (yeah…WSOU reference :] ). Kate was pretty excited. 'Pretty' being the understatement of the century.
The roadies thought we were all weird hahaha. Sound check was neat. Then we went around to the the gates to look around. Met a few people I knew and talked to some kids about hair and bleaching haha. Woo! I spotted some of the crew; Jeff P (tour manager), "Jane Doe" (makeup/ costume and whatnot) and Colin from Circa Survive which was cool.
And then Ray Toro came out of the stage door and was about a metre away from me. Yay! He looked tall and white and fro-full and whatnot. I smiled and waved. He gave everyone a wave and jumped into the van (with good reason; the amount of screaming girls was amazing :O To be honest, the things I've heard about what happened that day were quite terrible when it comes to respecting the band.) Anyway no one had any idea where he was going but ehh he apparently was 'going to dinner' according to the security guards. At 4pm huh? LOL security guards amuse me. The a dude came back with a big back and (what we then relized later) Toro's jacket and Kate and I made theories about it being a body bag and whatnot. Girls were annoying - we left.
And if this is a coronation I ain't feeling the love
It was cool to see him though. Talked to a few security guards, hahaha.
Security Guard: So…who is everyone here to see? Elle: My Chemical Romance! Security Guard: : / Michael Buble?? *confused look* Elle: *laughs* MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE Security Guard:........?
Then we went back to Emma and Bre. Only two hours to go! Whoa there were bitch fights back in the line, it was pretty hectic. Ahh I was so damn excited. Even more so due to lack of sleep and a shitload of coke. Emma's voice singing the wrong words to 'River' was circling in my head haha, "I'm a believer" over and over…and over again.
Anyway we got tickets scanned, wristbands were put on, merch was looked at and drinks were bought .And we were ready to go in!
TBC...

December 3, 2007Hanging out with The KillersWe waited around the back of the venue It began with around 50 people waiting…and by each minute everyone started to leave as it became colder and later. The stars are blazing
Soon there was only a few left. I talked to a few people ; one of which I'm positive was an ebay-er, which sucked. I put my arms around the fence and waited. Louis XIV came out but just went in the car after hanging around for a bit. The roadies hung around forever; which reminded me of 'The Truck Diversion" from MCR back in January. I didn't think they'd come out, which would be okay I thought, the show was so spectacular I was completely satisfied. I had brought my favourite killers song single, All These Things That I've Done incase they would maybe come out quickly to sign stuff. Ronnie's dad told us they'd come out, so I tried to make myself as decent as I could haha. We waited; and finally.
Ronnie came out! Woo! "Hey everyone, I'm Ronnie". LOL I thought "No shit Ronnie".
He talked to the crowd. He talked to everyone about how cool
So, I was pretty much shitting myself. When he came up to me he was so nice! I thanked him for the show and his general awesome-ness and he thanked me and everything. Then we talked about him playing guitar that night. He didn't think he was good. But yes..more talking about guitar and he signed my CD and said byee and thanks. Haha he reeked of alcohol, he is the coolest person ever. Then Ronnie invited us to the TRASH Afterparty. Which of course, I couldnt go to due to stupid age and late-ness. But I was like *hyperventalites* I got invited to the afterparty. *elle is dead*
"oh this isn't alcohol…its apple juice".
Then Ronnie introduced us to The Killers manager and Ronnie's Dad. Haha Ronnie's Dad is so funny. They were nice.
Then. Dave came out! Holyshit, he's tall. I don't know if its just his fro or what but damn. Tall. He was wearing the coolest jacket; all sparkly and stuff. Just before he got to me, someone accidently spat in his face, so he was like all pissed off. Aww. So when he got to me I thanked him and told him the show was fantastic signed the cover of my ATTID cd.
After a while later, someone came out of the other door. We all started yelling "We're In Heaven". And he laughed and came over.
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus, But he talks like a gentleman, Like you imagined When you were young.
It was He bowed and waved to everyone. Saying hi to everyone in general. Then he went up to individuals. Just before he came to me I dropped my ticket near him lol. And he was wearing a t-shirt by the way. Yes, Brandon Flowers, King of suits, cowboy style and vests. Skin-conscious
So he came up to me and said hey. I was freaking out on the inside, I love this man with everything I have. Right then I told him everything I've wanted to tell him for the past 3 and a half years. He was so lovely. When you're talking to him , he looks you dead in the eyes. Meanwhile he signed my album. He thanked me, and then moved on to Kate! Then I started worrying I'd fangirled too much haha. But I had to say that. It was important he knew.
Then afterwads thje boys had to go to take photos inside. Ronnie came past and I hi-fived him haha.
Hahaha Ronnie went inside then jumped back out and thumbs up-ed everyone. Afterwards they left in the car. I could not believe it. it was magical. Epic win. The night couldn't of been more perfect. We left. I cried. I laughed. And we went home. I could sleep knowing I'd let some of my heroes how much they mean.
I want to show you, how much I care. xoep. x-posted to myspace.com/indierockgirl123

The Killers concert - 10.11.07We got ready at our flat, before driving to the Entertainment Centre, which contained lots of detours. On the way there we were caught in a traffic jam, when I noticed two boys, around 20 were next to us, one of them wearing a killers bandana. So I motioned for him to wind down his window.
I dont think I ever seen so many headlights
E: 'Sup. are you going to the killers tonight? Car guy: haha chyeah E: oh cool. Awesome LMFAO. It was one of those be-there things I guess. But it was random and funny. In the middle of the city.
Then we got in the line. Yay! I love lining up. Talked to some people who were lovely, before trying to get some sleep – which failed. Some Killers fans playing Vampires by MCR on their ipod speakers. It was awesome haha. Before I came I wrote gazELLE on my arm? Yeah, this Lovely MCR girl came up to me because she saw my arm and Kate's arm which I wrote Pansy on. She was so nice; and she knew her shit too. Wow. She was awesome, said she'll see us on the 30th. I tried to have a quick sleep in the line as I was mega tired. But I got paranoid and Kate wouldnt shut up rambling about how young Brandon is.
Chatted to some more people. Got frisked, got let into the next set of doors and waited there for another hour or so. Finally we were let into the SEC. We began in 3rd row. It took ages for everyone to get in, twas crazy.
I'll never understand, with so much time, why roadies and whatnot don't set up before the show. We waited for ages. The waiting music they played was fucking hilarious. They went from 'Let it Be' by the Beatles to someone singing The Muffin Man song. It was so weird.
I know what you want. I'm gonna take you to a midnight show tonight. If you can keep a secret.
Then we all stood up and as the lights went of, the first support band, Louis XIV came on. I had heard they were awesome so I was anticipating seeing them. To be honest – I was disappointed. Not only were the songs and lyrics pretty damn sleazy and degrading, the lead singer talks in intervals about getting some in Australia and whatnot. I don't know.
Instrumentally I wasn't too impressed either – some of the stuff was good, but ya know. It was all a bit simple. I liked they had a violinist though; I have no idea why – I just think it was a bit more diverse. It was probably the sleazy-ness that put me off the most. But it was still enjoyable watching them. Every element of that show really only seemed to be in an attempt to compliment the lead singers vocals and guitar solos.
You know when you go see those bands who do the whole "eye-sexing" thing were they concentrate on one person at a time and yeah. The bassist did that a lot. He was gorgeous that bassist. *sigh* No, he was really good looking. During one of their songs, Ronnie came on stage and played guitar which I thought was pretty damn cool. Anyway Louis XIV finished. And yeah…I was kinda glad they did.
Howling Bells were on next. I hadn't heard anything by them – I knew they were critically acclaimed and the singer was supposed to have a wicked voice and there was a whole electronica/synth element of he band. Which ya know. Right down my alley – so I was looking forward to it. Holyshitwow. They were freaking fantastic. Juanita's voice was incredible. They played a song from the EP especially for the tour which I was probably my favourite.
They guitarist - he had his guitar connected to a synth or something, at some stages it sounded wayyy cool. So overall I really enjoyed watching them. Fantastic support band.
On the field I remeber you were incredible.
Just like The Killers show I went to in January of this year (yeah. sad puns – I win) the roadies and stage hands took fucking forever to set up – with good cause. the stage was littered with Pianos, synths, stands, flowers, skeletons, and even a crow like last time. The put up a white curtain though, to hide them setting up, but yeah. Being at barrier everyone was peaking through, chatting to security guards, asking stage hands questions. It took ageeessss. Then lights down, and something I didn't expect – a projection with photographic movie- type thing began. I could see absolutely nothing because it was right there *tilts head directly up* and yeah. But it was still cool. Then ka-pow. Stage lights on, screams and The Killers begin openly the show with the song Sam's Town. And the show began.
Setlist I think in no particular order: -Sam's Town -When You Were Young -Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine. -Interlude -On Top -Mr Brightside -Smile Like You Mean It -Somebody Told Me -Bones -River Is Wild -Uncle Johnny -Bling - For Reasons Unknown -My List w/ Louis XIV -Read My Mind -Exitlude -You're Just Too Good To Be True -Shadowplay -All These Things That I've Done. - Jamming thing between Shadowplay and For Reasons Unknown
It was one of the best experiences of my life. It was my first time at Barrier.
* We were lovingly drowned by two sets of red and blue, and in another song, Gold. I remember distinctively, looking up, standing still, looking up seeing these beautiful colours above me, foil falling gracefully over my eyes. And then looking back at them. Damn, it was so special.
*I could not believe that setlist though. It was simply perfect! And long too – they played every song off Sam's town sans Counting and White Boys. I couldn't comprehend they played all those songs. I still cant – it's amazing.
*
*And fuck. He looked at me a lot when he came over and I was smiling and waving like an idiot, rofl. In Somebody Told Me, he came over and looked right at me and sang "pace yourself for me, I said maybe, baby, please". So I was *dead x12425*
I look at you, and smile because I'm fine... I was surprised at the lack of people not knowing the songs. But wow.
*The crowd sang "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" between song and
*And On Top! Shit...that whole thing was intense. Incredible. And River! *sigh* I love that song so hard.
*During 'My List', Louis XIV came out to join them. Damn it was so cool. Full of fists in the air and hugs and smiles <3.
And, The Killers generally looked like they were enjoying themselves. Their faces were plastered with smiles at some points, even Mark – Mr. no emotion on face looked like he was having a good time.
Speaking of Mark, he tore it up in Jenny! the first part…"dundundun…dundun". (that's me signing bass obviously, but the start of Jenny), damn he was awesome. The rest of the band stopped for his bass solo; it was very rad.
Ronnie was awesome and expressive as usual. His face is funny to watch live, he's so vibrant. Haha he kissed
Dave was brilliant. Dave is brilliant. His fro and jacket was hyponotizing.
Being there made me happy.
When the show finished. Picks were thrown, we stayed around and I got a flower lily from the set, which I named and then we walked out Grabbed our tickets and began walking out of the venue. Continued to next blog...meeting The Killers... xoep.

November 6, 2007Taste of Chaos 2007Cap because this is an epic long blog : Lined up for ages and made lots of new friends, met old ones, as well as Nick from Aiden. The show was incredible- extremely rough though. I loved The Used, Gallows, Rise Against, and Aiden's performances the most. which is basically all the bands that played but i dont care. The Used were my favourite though. They played a lot of old songs as well as the best songs of Lies for the Liars. They were absolutely amazing <3 Show finished. Met more people until 1am when it was time to go. ______________
So, left Ulladulla by 9 o'clock. We were very, very excited. "Why? SHOW GODDAMNIT".
We went to Tracey's to get ready. I just wore my bones shirt and black ¾ pants and red makeup. Then did Kate's hair and makeup and made her choke on the litre of hairspray I used. And she wore her TBS shirt… "I taught you well little grasshopper" I thought. Then went through a sharpie session-
Me: VERY MUCH ALIVE (neck) S//C (hand) CAREFUL (inside arm) HALLOWEEN (knuckles) Kate: DON'T GOOGLE YOURSELF (hand), ZOID (neck), !WAYMIKEY (knuckles), MOTHER (inside arm) Full of win. Anyway we left, and drove to the train station. Got on the train, singing the 'Bert McCracken song'. Train took forever, little over an hour. Mum thought I was gonna get mugged so I started make hand signs. Ya know.. kill them with hand-signals. "The next stop is central…" Kate: *yelling* How about shutting the hell up!
When we got there it was just after 2pm and there weren't as many people there as I expected. Sat down with Kate, and looked around and holyshitwow, people had the Gerard-phrases like us on their arms and a S//C shirt. Haha so that was cool. Then I met up with Kurt and his two friends Andy and Michael and chatted for a while. Went back to line-up. Then decided to make friends lmfao. Talked to the group of kids behind us in the line. They were lovely and we stayed with them. Also met another girl, Kacey and she was rad too. So we kind of kept each other sane while we kept waiting. Thennnn, Kate says "look! *points*" And it was Nick Wiggins from Aiden chatting to a small group of kids in the line. So we walk over and I'm pushing Kate forward to meet him lol. She got him to sign her notebook and I took photos of them. I was so proud she met someone haha. Then I walked over. Me: Hi! Would you mind if I took a picture? Nick: Sure :] :*Nicks pulls me into him and put my hand around him *click* Me: thank you! Nick: no problem =] Me: ohh do you think you could you please sign this? Nick: yeah sure! Me: awesome! (Edit: I promised myself I'd never say that to another person in a band and I failed) thank you so much. *smiles* *signs other girls thing* *turns back to me* Nick: ohh, sorry I used your sharpie. Me: oh no its cool! Thank you! *walks back to line* *fangirls like a mofo quietly*
And then the girls we were lining up with said CHANNEL [V] were filming down on the pavers so Kate and I go down with Kacey. Woo! We jump into the crowd they are filming. Cameras cut and the guys hang around. Then we talked to Danny and Kurley from [V] . Got in headlocks, laughed, chatted, and took pics. It was funfunfun.
Then we went back to line up for the remaining hour and a bit. Got some lunch, and Mum came over. Doors open and we went in. Surprisingly the security told everyone to sit down when we got in. So yeah. We sat. Kate was shitting herself with excitement bless her.
Couldn't see anyone I knew. Turned around and saw a girl with a S//C shirt so I told her it was cool. And 5 minutes later I realized I'd seen her at school. lmfao. Then it all started. Everyone stood up. And the side act came on.
I think it was GUNS FOR GLORY. They were okay. DROP DEAD, GORGEOUS were first on the main stage. I'd only heard a tiny, little bit of their stuff beforehand so I was still kinda new to them. But they didn't disappoint. They sounded better live than on there recorded songs in my opinion. I really enjoyed listening to them.
Then THE BLED came on. Dan from the Used actually introduced them which was very cool. Quinn was video-ing their performance the crowd. Iero has been screaming praises about their live shows so I was definitely excited to see them .But I really liked them too. The lead singer, James was particularly amazing, he got a lot of crowd interaction when he jumped off the stage and started singing near the barrier. Plus he had cool hai so it was winwin all around. Radradrad.
GALLOWS came on next. Ah dude, not many people like/liked them. I thought they were totally awesome; I don't know why. They put on a fucking amazing live show in my opinion. Frank Carter is a bastard; but I love him. It was the most intense part of taste of chaos pit-wise for me. Absolutely brutal. There punched in the face, stepped on, my chest my elbowed so much I thought id broken something. That's when I lost one of my shoes. *flashbacks to heychris' video of girl who lost her shoe at an MCR concert*. Found it a few minutes later, it got very sore.
THEN! So I was standing at the edge of this huge pit, pushing the people who ran into Kate and I, when I heard the opening guitar for Black Flag's Nervous Breakdown. I start yelling at Kate who eventually heard it too... Gallows were covering Black Flag. hoylshitwow. Impulse. I remember looking around and no one was singing. No one looked like they had any idea what song was on - which I thought was hilarious. You have all these people claiming to be so 'punk' and 'hardcore' that they can't recognize a Black Flag, who revolutionized American hardcore, song. hahaha. Anyway. Then I grabbed Kate's hand and dragged her through the circle pit. Came out closer to the front. Got very close as everyone was too preoccupied with the pit in that area. And Me and Kate went off and starting screaming the lyrics like a crazy mofo. And I pulled Kate closer, and Frank Carter walked over to the part of the stage we were at and he smiled at our part while the guitar solo bit was going. It was awesome. And yeah. Because of that, I found a new love for the Gallows. I must say, I didn't mind there cover either. Anyway. Frank Carter. Kept talking about fucking everyones mum and being a wanker. " Yeah, I loved them.
Then AIDEN came on. WiL came out looking lovely as usual. I may have had a fangirl moment but shh. WE had totally switched positions from the gallows set but it was good thing. haha. I loved it. wiL swinging his mic like I heard he does, reminded me of that Adam Lazarra shirt "proudly swinging since 1999" The songs that stuck out the most for me were Teenage Queen, One Love, Die Romantic, The Last Sunrise, The Last Sunset "FuckYour Mom" midsong made my heart burn. And there was this part where nick did this bass swing over the head catch. haha I thought it was so cool. Lots of crowd surfers too. Oh it's cool, I totally didn't need that arm. Overall it was fucking awesome.
Then CARPATHIAN came on. They don't really rock my boat at all. I started to feel ill and my shoe had come off again. SO after a few songs Kate and I went out. Brought a tonne of coke and water and took a breathe as I tied up my shoe rofl. Looked around for a signing tent, couldn't find one so we were like "eh fuck it lets go back". Saw the last few songs of Carpathian
Then RISE AGAINST came on!! Woo! I was totally psyched to see them. The crowd seemed crazy for them too. I really liked them, not knowing all of the songs they played - I still really enjoyed it. The little pits were incredibly rough again too. I really loved Ready To Fall. That was probably my favourite song they played. Woo. And then some guy screwed up my jaw. Ouch. And they finished with Prayer of a Refugee I believe which was also rad. Ah they were so good. I'd love to see them again.
THE USED were last and everyone was pretty excited. Ooo, now everything stopped. The T.O.C banner was taken down and a new one was put up. It was a picture of an American flag with a naked woman on it looking scared. It said something along the lines of "I woke up from the American Dream". I really didn't understand what I had to do with The Used. My first thought was Greenday. But yeah...odd banner.
So a while later… The stage crew starts putting out all these cut out figures. I'd also met up with Kurt and Andy again and had an awesome chat to them. haha we started naming the cutouts. Chadam came out! And then they came on! Saw Bert and laughed. I don't know but he makes me laugh a lot. He said something about smelling 'ripe' and all of us being 'fucking sexy'. And I laughed some more.
Pretty sure the set list was: Bird And The Worm Take It Away Liar, Liar (Burn in Hell) Paralyzed Taste of Ink/ All That I've Got/ Buried Myself Alive/ All That I've Got Another One Bites The Dust (Queen cover) Pretty Handsome Awkward Hospital Box Of Sharp Objects ( w/ wiL Francis)
Liar, Liar. Woah. Things got hefty and intense and wow. It felt good. And before Paralyzed he starting going on about doing this dance... It started with the hands, moved down to the shoulders and then the ass. And haha he made me laugh with his dancing skills. I love Paralyzed.
Then! Bert says "Yeah lets see how many of you motherfuckers are hardcore fans, who wants some old shit'. Then basically I died. It was incredible. Kate got to do her back up singing xD and I did my Gerard - hand dance. It was so amazing. Those songs mean the world to me. In between songs he introduced the band. And got everyone to sing stuff like "Hey Dan! Hey Dan! Danny boy! Danny boy! Take your shirt off Dan. Take your shirt off Dan". Then he started singing about his "wiener" he kissed Quinn at some point. Someone through a bra up on stage which he started doing sexual things with. XD it was hilarious. He was all "*lifts up shirts to show off chest* ohhh bert, sign my tits bert.ohhhhhhh". hahahaha. He's such a horndog. <333
Then...I don't know why...he started playing 'Another One Bites The Dust' by Queen. It was good, just really unexpected and weird. Pretty Handsome was another set highlight "I hope you choke and die" that felt good to scream out. I swear going to a used show is like anger release therapy rofl. And there was this part where i looked at Jeph and he was doing the same part he did in the video -which is my favourite part. haha. And then they played Hospital *dies* Ah, that song was breath-taking, especially the part where its all "Three cheers you fooled them all, hip hip horray".
And then! wiL comes out and does a duet for Box of Sharp Objects! yeah...freaked out. Mmm. A duet with another lead sing of a band from taste of chaos who he likes to kiss a lot. Familiar? So...yeah. Bert decides this is the time for a full crowd death wall and we need to split and 'back the fuck back 10 more steps'. I grab Kate's hand and we are 3-ish people from the front row of "death-ness" ROFL.. And when Bert yells 'go'. It was so damn fun yet so incredibly, excruciatingly painful. About 10 seconds into it, it was getting way to dangerous so I grabbed Kate and we went back.
Bert, Bert was like...weirder than usual. Weird and sexual and odd. lmfao. He involved the crowd a lot too. He thanked us all for our support. Jeph kept playing with the cut outs which made me laugh. Quinn & Dan played fantastically. Flawlessly. Haha and I ended up with getting some random bandana put on my head by someone. I think it was Kurt...I hope it was or someone felt the need to start putting things on me. >.> The Used was definitely my favourite band there. Then after we met the girls we lined up with, and grabbed our tickets. we ended up having to go around the back where the cars exit to wait for bands. After a while we realized we were on the wrong side to were the bands were coming out but we waited anyway.
And then we met 3 girls. Emma, Nicky and Stacy. We ended up hanging with them for about an hour. Hahahah they were hilarious. We were having the weirdest conversations. We made a special brick. And we signed each others autograph books and T.O.C books. I was cool and signed one of them with 'Bert McCracken xoxo'. lmfao. Didn't expect to really meet any bands because. But The Bled guys stopped so I just waved. Then it got past 1am we had to go back to the hotel. Got in. Took pictures of 'the damage' (bruises and scratches and whatnot). Had a shower. Realized that big coloured patch on my legs weren't dirt, they were bruises. And then I fell asleep thinking about what's going on in China Town next door.
And that was the Taste of Chaos Experience for 2007. xoep.

July 26, 2007Elle's Music History [important]"If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about." - Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance. Music is a very important part of my life, and over the years things have changed, and things have been added. I thought it was important to go through my music history, starting from what I was listening to when I was a toddler to where I am now... ELLE'S MUSIC HISTORYFirst off, my parents have a lot to do with what I listen to.
My mum listened/listens to a lot of different stuff. She was into the 80's a lot...but "good 80's" if you're picking up what I'm putting down. She was the rock/pop/modern stuff out of my Mum and Dad. She liked ALL the bands above…alot of INXS, Cyndi Lauper and just..ugh everything. It was so rad. My dad on the other hand "nothing beats brit-pop". He was/is a huge Morrissey fan. He loved David Bowie. He saw David Bowie in concert he says. He loved the Clash and The Cure. He LOVED Jarvis and Pulp. Every Saturday and Sunday we would watch Rage and other music clip shows together...and he'd tell me stuff about all the bands. We did that all the damn time. Haha I remember taping this Pulp video where they were all on roller-skates. Dad had a lot of music video tapes. I was six years old when, for Christmas I received my first music that was my own. It was Britney Spears, Back Street Boys, Alley McBeal Soundtrack (wtf haha) and Ricky Martin; equip with a portable radio/tape player thingo. I loved it SO much. *The Smiths *Sinead O'Connor *The Clash *The Cure *Jarvis Cocker/Pulp *The Pixies *Billy Bragg *Elvis Costello * UK Squeeze *Rolling Stones
Then...came Hilary Duff. I was a HUGE Hilary Duff fan. I lost my concert virginity to her when I was 11. I thought she was so awesome. Seriously, I loved her so much. Mainly: The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, White Stripes, The Strokes, Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab For Cutie, Artic Monkeys. but it was mainly just KillersKillersKillers. I was taping an MTV awards show one time, taping it as The Killers were nominated and were going to perform. They were nominated for Best Rock Video and right after Mr. Brightside came ..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />
My life changed after that. I had found MCR. I downloaded the first album and second album and instantly fell in love with it. It was something I related to on so many levels, it was like they were saying everything I had ever thought or felt in my life. I can't properly explain how much they helped me…especially in 2006. Hmm… well I had a lot of things going on. But wow. They changed me, helped me, and saved me so much no matter how cliché that sounds. I wont go into why or how at the moment, but finding them really did change me life so much. I was so happy I found them. Just…everything changed drastically.
This was sometime in 2005 when I found them. I brought 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge' in Goulburn, which was the first MCR album I had properly brought. I knew of absolutely no fans around my area, and things were still extremely bad (regardless of mcr, things had to happen) so I got into music more than I ever had. I had no real friends. And music was something I could rely on so I got into more stuff. Still in 2005/2006 I was into a lot of music from early on…still not into really old school punk, and I wasn't into screamo or hardcore at all. Around mid 2006 I discovered a tonne of music that was new to me. Much more old school stuff, I got into more punk/hardcore/screamo stuff…which was weird at first. My music taste hasn't really changed since then except I've gotten into more electronic rock now. My parents are really supportive of most of what I listen to now, they actually really love most of it too. At the moment I'm exploring a lot of genres and loving them all. I don't think you should limit yourself with the music you listen to, and you don't necessarily have to categorize every band you DO listen to. Blocking yourself off from other genres so you don't get discriminated for liking something else is something I've never done and probably will never do. Frank Iero said something like "Its all rock and roll anyway, so why push people away"…and I think that applies not just to the music "scenes" but music in general. It's all music. That's all that matters. Variety is everything. I still listen to Britney Spears a lot…actually I still listen to everything I listened to in the past...except for Hilary Duff I suppose. It doesn't matter what's 'cool'. Like fucking Fergie and Slipknot if you like them both, don't feel like you have to choose one 'musical taste'. Don't stop liking a band because they are having commercial success. I have liked The Killers for over 3 years now, and I still remember the days where no one had even heard of them, let alone listened to them. Same with My Chem. And I don't feel any pressure to stop liking them because they are becoming more popular. All these bands deserve to be huge. People who have been out there street-teaming, saying no one no's what bands they listen to, and then when they do, they ditch them and call them "sellouts" who are "have turned terribly mainstream" I don't understand. xoep. [ this day 6 months was the best day ever :) ]

July 18, 2007Sarah Blasko Concert.Um..I saw Sarah Blasko last week. Thought I'd put something on here =]
She did stuff off her first album, her latest album AND Sarah even covered "Flame Trees" (originally done by Cold Chisel). I was so excited! She did an awesome job too. I believe you can find the studio version in the 'Little Fish' soundtrack She was very polite in between songs too. It was an extremely intimate show. She seemed kinda awkward on stage, like she didn't know where to put her hands or move. But I've heard thats how she performs always, its like her thing...so that was rad. She uses alot of instruments in her shows too. She played guitar, but her band, they were very versitle and used a lot of instruments. There was a lot of simple percussion, which was aweome, still had the synth/keyboard. Some of the other percussion instruments seemed almost..childish..but ..maybe simple is a better way to explain it. It was very good though. (reminded me of the song Who Let You Go? - The Killers..how well simple pieces of music with child-like instruments can produce a fantastic song) would know Overall is was very very good and got the thumbs up.

June 11, 2007The Killers concert!!! 26.1.07[pasted from myspace =) ]
So after getting ready, Mum and I began our drive to one of the best nights of my life, seeing my favourite band of nearly 3 years live at the Sydney Hordern pavilion. While we were in the car I saw a white van with the number plate BRYMAR. I was like mum look its bob (because Bob's so cool he has his own car). I stared hopefully at the man in the van and he stuck his tongue out at me. It wasn't Bob, haha.
After a few wrong turns, missed street signs and laughter at the "flower power" shop we arrived a fox studios. I was way excited. We looked at a map and found the Hordern Pavilion. It was around 3:30 and about 150 kids were already lined up. And sound check was going on so I ran over to the gates and listened to them play a song I had never heard and the song Sam's Town.
Half an hour later a lot of people began to come, and lucky us, we got a real live episode of
At 7ish the gates opened and we went in (with our camera too!). Already A LOT of people where drunk and surprisingly there was a lot older people than I expected. Mum and I got merch pretty quickly which set me back $90 and then we went outside before the support band (Starky) came on. There we saw Kurt and his friends. We said hi and talked for a bit before I left and we went in. Mum decided to sit in the seating area. There weren't many kids standing yet, so I went to the right hand side of the stage and slowly morphed closer and more to the centre. Still it wasn't so crowded so I could move a bit. There was alcohol everywhere, and I managed to step in a cup of bear that went all up my pants. After a while Starky came out. The crowd got bigger and bigger. They played very well, some songs went off in the mosh. I certainly liked them although a lot of people didn't. I also learnt that whenever a man or someone older ( and there was people there in the mosh who looked around 50) than me pushed through to get closer to the stage I would follow really close to them, pretending I was with them. That got me forward a lot.
At the end of Starky I was about 8/9 people from the center right hand side of the stage which I was pretty comfortable at. Starky finished up and there equipment was taken off the stage and replaced with the killers instruments and surprising a lot of props such as lots of flowers, fairy lights, a black bird and bones. It looked pretty mad!
At that point I was feeling very dizzy, and was considering going back to mum but I didn't want to lose my spot, so instead I asked some girls if they had any water. Luckily they were very nice and gave me the rest of their bottle, which I put all over my face to cool me down. I decided to stay.
Around 30 minutes later, the lights turned off, The Killers came on, and the screaming began. They all looked extremely cute. The opening notes to Sams town played out of
The set list was: Sam's Town - <333 Bling- wow.
When they left we all started singing "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" trying to get an encore anddd….
At the end Ronnie stood in the centre of the stage and showed off his Australian tee shirt.
So Afterwards I grabbed a coke (my love) and ran to the gates where the bus/cars where. This chick started talking to me really excitedly and I had no idea who she was. Her friend gave me a leaf from the set. There weren't many people waiting (30ish), but when the killers were leaving Afterwards, I was extremely hyper and we went to get 'krispy crème' donuts where I made short films about the drug dealing pimps in the car park. Best 1/2 of a birthday present ever. One of the best nighta of my life. My Chemical Romance concert next day =]

April 16, 2007My Chemical Romance Concert.-Saw MCR at The Hordern Pavillion, Sydney. -Played incredible...most moving thing ever. -Met some lovely kids -Chatted with the support band, Another Day Down...4/5 of them anyway XD -Met Gerard Way <33
Note: I'll put my photos in an album instead of here =]
After the night before I had slept in toll 1ish, so I was a bit late getting ready. When we arrived in the parking lot I jumped out while mum parked and everything. I got there at about 3:30 and already there was A LOT of kids. It was weird too because a lot of people looked like me. It was literally a black parade with the occasional red thrown in. So I got to the end of line…no one form Ulladulla was there yet that I saw. After a while Mum came, I took the camera and took photos of the crowd and everything. I walked up and down the line for ages looking for people I knew and then found Bel! We talked for a bit which was awesome and then I went back. The line was incredible. The kids in the line had the coolest things: makeup, homemade shirts and bags, patient outfits with blood on them. I even saw a girl with a S//C jumper on that I talked to for a bit. It was so weird, because there was already this ‘bond’ between everyone. We were all there for the same thing. After 4 and a half hours of lining up, we finally got in. I went to the toilet and then ran like hell to the standing are. I was up the front in the middle of the stage, surrounded by boys and 3 girls. It was crazy already…the boys around me started moshing and stuff (to no music at all :/) and I got hurt quite a bit. Didn’t bother me. Then I started talking to these 3 girls around me. I totally forget their names, but they were 19 and from The guitar techs came on and did their thing. And then Another Day Down came on. The boys started to get really rough and the girls grabbed me and yanked me out of there. They looked after me so well. They were awesome. Another Day Down played awesomely, and after a few songs I decided to get back to get closer and center myself. It took me a while but I did. A few rows from the front. ADD finished, we waited, and waited. Then The Black Parade curtain appeared and a bit of Greenday played while everything was getting tuned. I keep getting closer and closer and I had lost the girls I was with, and still knew no one. Haha, after a while the lights dimmed and I saw Ray’s hair and flipped out. Then, Bob began playing his drums, and The End began. And the Gerard sang the opening lines. I freaked out and got extremely excited. Then the curtain dropped. Holy shit. I will never forget that. Gerard was a bit to the left of me and Ray Toro was right there. And the crowd was just a sea of bodies jumping up. It was the most amazing feeling in the world. My Chemical Romance played The End perfectly and went straight into DEAD! About half way, The Worm (who was at the side of the stage) told Toro to stop, who told Gerard to stop. It was a dead halt. A heap of kids had fallen down, and Gerard told us to move back a few times. We all did (apart from some idiots). He said some funny shit up there. I recorded some of it on my phone. Then, all of the sudden, the “La La La La La. La La La La La Laaa”s came in. And they were all so synchronized and continued perfectly. My Chemical Romance played soooo well! The song choice was awesome. Amazing. Most of the kids were way nice to me. I couldn’t believe I was actually there. So damn emotional. It was like Ray Toro and I ran like crazy to find mum out the side of the venue. There were heaps of people there already, and Mum was there, with her arms wrapped around the fence, coke and sharpie in her hand, holding my spot. Thank god she did, she put me up on the fence, haha she held me up there for ages, because I nearly kept fainting every 10 minutes. The girls behind me were CRAZY. They trying to push me off and Mum, like, baracaded herself around me. There was a lot of bitch fights ( “Listen slut, don’t think you are going to meet MY Gerard”). The Backstage doors were open, I could of sworn I saw Alicia. Anyway we saw them all walking around and stuff. But I started talking to another few girls around me….I remember one of their names was Emily. They were way sweet. We all perfectly quoted the Y2+K7 Scare, and chatted about how cool it would be if Worm had a solo career. Then we laughed about how we had messed up the garden, because there was a crushed bush next to us. I took a picture of us…which left us to quote the “I killed so many plants” Gerard some more. They had camped out the other night, and meet the band (Toro asked if they had “snacks”) which I thought was very cool. There was this chick behind the fence who kept walking around…she was obviously someone important to the band. Then Worm came out (YAY!). He told us to all be quite or the band wouldn’t come out. Incase, you didn’t know, I absolutely LOVE the worm. Then this bug ass truck came out and blocked out entire few. We all started yelling “MOVE THAT TRUCK”, we all laughed and it moved. It was time to say hi to some roadies. I met Ryan, who was a roadie/band car driver. He knew Emily quite well and got them water and stuff. I dropped my book over the fence and he picked it up and stuff. Awesome guy. Eric (the vocalist from Another Day Down) came out while the rest of the band were packing and stuff. He was the coolest guy. He talked to me and the Emily’s crew for, like 10 minutes. He had an “I love Dubbo” shirt on which I found hilarious for some reason, so we talked about Dubbo, and touring and stuff. He was like “Yeah…you girls are waiting for the chem. boys aren’t you”. But he was amazing and signed my book and stuff.
After, Andrew (the bassist from Another Day Down) came out. He didn’t stay for long, but I still mangaged to make and ass out of myself infront of him. When I was talking to him I told him “You have awesome writing Andrew”. Wtf…. He was awesome anyway. I then met the back up vocalist and one of the guitarists. We just said hi and thanks and he signed my stuff. He went back and packed. The guitarist had come up out of no where, and was just about to leave. But I yelled out hi and complemented the show and everything, and asked him to sign my book. He was was so cool and polite. He spoke to me so nicely and was very sweet. After me, he left and went back to the rest of the band. After about an hour, Mikey did a quick wave and left in a van…he didn’t get the chance to say hi to anyone. Then, The Worm came out WITH GERARD WAY. It went absolutely crazy!!! He waved to us and then went down to the far end of the line first. I was so nervous… Mom handed me My Black Parade CD (with a picture of Mikey inside that Kate gave me, hehe). And then Gerard was right there. My vocabulary however was not. Me: *hands Gerard TBP* Hey! *Gerard signs* Me: Thankyou so so much. You guys are so awesome. You did an amazing show tonight. Thankyou!!!! Gerard: *looks up at me and smiles* Aww, thank you! And he was that damn close I brushed his jacket somehow. (yeah random I know…but it was soft , and I was cold, haha). I died. That was the happiest moment of my entire life. I met the man that changed my life, my idol, my hero. Gerard then went up the line a bit more before leaving in a van (driven by Ryan.). I got so emotional. I was crying and just watching the backstage door. I had never been happier. The girls around me were really surprised, and asked why I was crying. I told them that’s all I have ever wanted. I told them where I was from and everything. They were like “:OOOO =]]]]]”. They were really awesome. After that the band had left. People starting moving away. And it was getting really really late. So Mum and I said Bye to everyone and left. Haha, I remember walking down the main Fox Studios Street, balling my eyes out, Mum was crying to. I must have looked so weird. We got in the car, and left. The kids in front of us were belting MCR out of the car which was awesome. I phoned Kate, and she didn’t believe what had happened at first. I called Courtney and Jenna. I called a lot of people. Finished the night with KFC and went hope hyper in the early hours of the morning. That night, was the absolute best time of my life. What I have written does not do justice to what it was, and how much it meant to me. It was just. unbelievable.
